Linda Long teaches music classes in Gig Harbor, Washington to students from Pierce and Kitsap counties.
She has over 20 years experience teaching both children and adults piano, guitar & bass, both acoustic and electric, as well as numerous other instruments.
Her teaching commitment is to give each student an opportunity to learn and experience the joy of making music. Although technical excellence is expected, lessons are given while maintaining sensitivity to the individual’s emotional and intellectual needs. She believes her job is to motivate students, to guide them to increased skill in playing and to give them opportunities to share themselves and the music they have learned. She loves teaching not only the classical “note reading” approach, but also providing the theoretical background necessary for ear training, chord theory, improvisation, and learning to create their own music.
